GAM Enterprises imports and manufactures precision mechanical components used in the Motion Control Industry. GAM’s manufacturing is a high-mix, low-volume, flexible operation where many of the items sold are unique or special. We have an opportunity for an experienced, quality professional to be a leader and a do'er to implement a Quality Management System along with results that assure quality for the company. The position reports directly to the Director of Process Improvement and is based at our Mount Prospect, IL headquarters.

The ideal candidate will be someone who will excel working in our fast paced company, where the velocity from the time of order, design, manufacture, and ship is very high. GAM is looking for someone who is motivated by a challenge and gets excited about rolling up their sleeves, getting involved hands-on, and creating systems and processes that bring about positive changes in the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Quality Engineer/Manager will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System. Assure that all products manufactured are within specification with a focus on prevention of defects rather than the identification and correction of defects that may arise. This includes:

*  Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain the company Quality Management System
*  Drive and influence sustainable continuous improvements throughout the business core processes
*  Develop, implement, and manage the policies, procedures, goals and objectives pertaining to the company Quality Management System
*  Ensure compliance to quality processes by creating and implementing an procedural internal audit program
*  Identify relevant quality related training needs and provide training as needed
*  Develop & maintain all necessary quality metrics as required by quality management system
*  Serve as the factory primary contact for all customer and third party audits, including management, preparation, and corrective actions
*  Assure that all non-conforming products are managed (including identification, segregation and timely final disposition) in accordance with current applicable policies
*  Manage the outsourced calibration activities of all equipment and tools used to monitor part specification

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of supervising / managing quality assurance
*  Experience with precision CNC machining of metal products
*  Creation and implementation of new Quality Management Systems
*  Ability to use, calibrate and maintain a variety of measuring equipment including bore gauges, Sunnen gauges, micrometers, calipers, indicators, and air gauges.
*  ASQ certification and GMP knowledge
*  Process documentation, including flow documentation and measurement
*  Application of Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) techniques
*  CMM experience a plus
